Family Portrait
Reflection
For the family portraits assignment, I chose to photograph my family puppy Faith (she is a Havanese). I feel that I was able to capture the fact that she is a puppy by getting down to her level and showing her small size compared to other things in the pictures. Because she is a puppy, she sleeps a lot, which is why she is lying down or sleeping in half of the pictures. I used different angles for each of the pictures, but most were eye level - only one was from above. I think that the background of the first picture enhances the picture because of the strong, bright sky that contrasts with the gray fur. The other pictures were taken inside so the lighting was not as good. I tried to get pictures of Faith with simple backgrounds but that wasn't always possible, especially when she was sleeping. The first picture is by far my favorite because of the blue sky, texture of the trees, and the closeness of Faith.
