Studio Portrait
Reflection
The subjects for my Studio Portraits are Lyndsey and Lauren. The lights in the first and third pictures are to the right of me and the subject, but at an angle, so the shadow is cast on the background. In the middle portrait, the light is right in front of the subject and I am positioned slightly to the right of the light. In the first portrait, the model is sitting and looking straight into the camera. In the second shot, the model is looking down and sitting at an angle. In the third shot, the model is looking at a diagonal. In the first and third picture, the model has a serious face and in the middle picture, the model is laughing. All three photos were taken with a landscape format so that it allowed room for the person and the shadow on the background. I am right in front of the model in the first and third portrait. In the second portrait, I am slightly above the model and looking down at an angle. All of the portraits communicate the emotions on the model. The first and third pictures have a serious expression and a plain, white background which communicates a plain portrait. Whereas, the middle portrait is of the model laughing against a bright blue background which communicates a happier subject. The clothes the model is wearing also help communicate the mood. The clothes in the first and last portrait are white, muted, and very simple and the clothes in the middle picture have bright, colorful, and fun patterns.
