Self Portrait
Reflection
The first picture was taken in my backyard around 4:00 in the afternoon, which allowed good lighting for the picture. I am wearing a white dress with pink sandals that match the pink umbrella that I am holding. Because of the light dress and bright pink colors, I wanted a dark, neutral background. My mom took the picture for me since it would be much harder otherwise for this type of picture.
In the second picture, I am in my computer room which is rather bright because of the skylights around the room. I put up a white towel behind me to give me a neutral background; I didn't want this backgorund to stand out too much. I am, once again, wearing a white dress, a big pink headband, sunglasses, and pink lipgloss. I really like this picture because of how the dress and sunglasses, and the headband and lipgloss match, and therefore coordinate. To take this picture, I set my camera on my computer chair to make it steady and turned the self-timer on.
My third picture was not taken intentionally for this assignment. It was taken on my birthday this year (mid-March). I chose to use this picture, though, because I liked that it followed the rule of thirds. It is not the best picture ever, but I feel like it has potential if you take away the distractions in the background and foreground. One thing that I do like about the picture is the fact that a lot of the colors are repeated. The pinks in my cardigan and the cake, the tan in the cake and walls, and the darker colors in the cake and clothing; it gives an idea of unity. In this picture, I am wearing capris, a white shirt, pink cardigan, and jeweled headband. Once again, my mother took the picture for me.
